Bloom-berry

When I finally planted some blueberries a couple of years ago, I expected berries. What I didn't expect was that the little blooms would be so attractive!

Here's a brief look at them now. They're so colorful compared to previous years!

This year I'll be building a frame to hold the netting over these plants so the robins don't find their way in and get every berry again.

I thought I've done blueberry bloom posts before, but I was only able to find a few shots here and there: April 2011   April 2012

It's interesting how the blossom mimics the berry! Good luck eluding the birds!

Really nice! The flowers even resemble blueberries!

Aren't they the cutest little flowers? I love them, and the fruits that follow are a bonus. And blueberry bushes have scarlet red fall foliage and a nice woodsy bare branch structure when winter comes. A great plant all around, all year long.
