Tap Scrape Tap Tap

That's the sound that I hear coming from the kitchen whenever the wind blows.

Remember the heavy wet snow we had a week ago that bent the bamboo down? A few culms are still out of place, and one of them is touching the kitchen window.

This makes it very easy to enjoy bamboo up close from the comfort of the kitchen:

But is a bit distracting and disconcerting. That scrape sound is a bit freaky...

...especially at night when just the bottom few inches of the window are uncovered by blinds. A glimpse of what looks like fingers brushing against the glass is startling!

I'm not sure that I like my plants reaching out to remind me that there are springtime chores piling up out there...

Scary! Maybe it wants to beckon you outside in the great spring weather!

Maybe it's threatening you with revenge for doing all of that root pruning.

Renee: If only it we had great spring weather I'd believe this...

Peter: Your interpretation is more likely, but bamboos don't really threaten, they just quietly act (spread). :)
