Just looking

I thought I'd end the week with a few views that I particularly like in the garden right now.

The southeast corner of the house is really coming together, even though I need to remove the climbing rose that is hidden from view by the papyrus in this shot. What would I do without grasses?

You know I love bamboo, but I especially love seeing multiple bamboos in the same view!

Also great when they're creating a backdrop for other plants:

I think this is my favorite Canna ('Paton'), because the foliage is so sharply upright:

I just love the lines it creates! I don't even care about the flowers, as lovely as they are.

Sometimes the garden's beauty is a surprise, like this dying castor bean leaf:

Or this combo of squash leaf and cypress vine, catching the light just right, too high for the deer to reach:

I apologize, but I just have to use this photo again:

It just captures how I feel about the late-summer garden so well!

Have a great weekend -- enjoy the garden before it goes to sleep!

Loving the robustness of the garden at this time of the year, a period of peak but just before autumn sets in. Great images as always and happy weekend!

don't apologize, it's a wonderful photo we all love seeing! Fall is on its way here, too...I think I'm ready now.
