Cold, cold Spring

We should be deep into Spring by now...

...but the cold just won't stay away! Some nice warm days (we hit 82ºF/28ºC the other day!) sandwiched between cold ones makes this an unusual Spring, at least compared to the last several years.

It could be worse, like when we have an early warmup followed by a late hard freeze. That doesn't seem likely this year, as everything is so slow to wake up.

It's the first year that my daffodils have not been ruined by a freeze, or ice, or hail.

So strange to see them upright for over a week! Strange but good of course.

The groundcover bamboos in the front yard have gotten their trim...

...and the bright, fresh foliage is starting to peek out.

It won't be long until it really looks and feels like Spring around here finally!

I hope the cold you had now will be the last one then on to spring...

Very nice that your daffodils have remained upright this spring! Hopefully things warm up nicely very soon. We had record breaking rain over the weekend and into Monday & they're not predicting sun until Thursday.
