No time...

No time to put together much of a post, but I don't want to fall out of the habit or I may never start up again.

So I'll show you the Hibiscus lasiocarpos, the Missouri native with the largest flowers.

***

It's not doing great here as it gets too much shade now, probably wants more water, and is somewhat bunched after I gathered it -- the storms keep flattening it.

Still, it's such a beauty!

The frantic big bees (bumbles, carpenters, etc.) are gathering pollen like this is the only source around.

(Extreme photo processing warning)

I feel a bit like these bees lately, buzzing around -- take a photo of me and I bet it's blurred!

This looks like it would be native to the tropics, not Missouri. Beautiful flowers for sure.

Very pretty! Looks like it belongs in a different climate. :)
