A little discovery

I've had these little bistro tables for years. You may know that I've recently been taking a closer look at them -- I've had to while adding the wooden top.

I noticed something else about them recently too: the ring connecting the legs. They could do more than just add rigidity to the table.

I've always thought that something was missing from these...

Do I have the right-sized "ingredients"?

I probably do... I must, with so many clay pots... Yes, I do!

These clay pots are slightly different sizes, but both fit into the rings.

So I planted them up.

And now the little tables are more visually balanced.

They also seem like they have a purpose even when their tops are empty.

I think the third one under the deck...

...will be difficult to find a plant for being so dark. I should probably relocate this one anyway.

Not sure that I have a third pot of the right size either...

Wonderful tables.
I have a similar one with a solid glass top, (no hole for an umbrella). The parsley plant thrives in the space for an umbrella. Its like green house protection giving cooler shade to the cool loving parsley with enough sun to grow well.

These table conversion is a stroke of genius. Absolutely love it.

Wow, you are really on fire with projects! I love it when things fit together puzzle-perfect, like that pot in the ring at the base.
