It bugs me

An appropriate subject presented itself on the window yesterday, as this unidentified bug really fits my mood right now.

It's the weather you see. These intense storms, I suppose what some would call "gully washers", have been carrying away mulch, flattening tender emerging plants, muddying up the fish pond (plus awakening me way too early with big thunder and poundings upon the roof). In short, they're bugging me!

I'd even go so far as to say they're sort of ruining Spring.

But this insect is also a perfect fit for the other side of my mood as well, because I'm just tickled that warm weather is here and it's gardening time again! (And those fuzzy antennae look like they might tickle if a bug isn't careful.)

Severe storms forecast for later this afternoon again. Hello Spring!

I warned you that there would be some short posts these next couple of weeks.

Yikes, spring sounds pretty violent there. It can be a bit windy here but so far it's been quite beautiful. Hooray for spring and a new season of gardening!

Those fuzzy antennae almost make that critter look cuddle-able. Almost.

I remember a spring a few years ago (2010? 2011?) that was a complete washout, cold and rain rain rain. Any hopes I had of getting things going in the garden were dashed. Hopefully your crazy weather won't last.

Spent 45 minutes in the basement last night. Terrible devastation to the west of us as a huge, slow moving tornado moved through. Spring is indeed a whole other ballgame in the Midwest.

Lisa: It's thoughtless of me to be complaining about rain (no matter how much there is of it) when these storms are bringing devastation and grief to people. It's easy to forget that almost every storm brings destruction to somebody.

We all do it - I was feeling bad for complaining about the rain, knowing California and other western states are suffering so badly for lack of it. We feel so lucky to have been missed by the worst of it yesterday. I've seen a number of tornadoes in my life, but that one was unlike any I have seen. Nature has forces that we cannot even comprehend.
