What caught my eye this morning

A casual walk around the garden this morning, enjoying the damp quiet, no real goal.

Here's what I found, what caught my eye.

***

Red-whisker clammyweed...

...produce loads of seed. Love this plant!

Speaking of seeds... feverfew!

I love finding the mantis babies I released!

The underside of a maple leaf, a couple of feet over my head

My neighbor's oak is covered in galls, every single leaf...

...and also these large, spiky galls on the stems.
What's going on here?

I hope you're finding interesting things in your gardens!

Lovely pictures.
I have no idea what those read bugs are.

I love the dew. I want some of that :-).

"Red-whisker clammyweed" makes me smile. The next time I walk into a nursery, I'll ask them if they carry it just so I can say the name.

Thanks Lucy!

Maywyn: Assasin bug nymphs maybe?

Gerhard: I'd worry if "Red-whisker clammyweed" didn't make you smile! Native annual, at least in the eastern part of the country. I'll save some seeds for you -- heck, I'll bring some to Portland!
