Something different: guess the city!

As a little break from my roadtrip to Yellowstone posts, let's try something different for me.

Can you guess what city is shown in today's post? The visual clues will get stronger toward the end of the post, so scroll slowly and see how quickly you can guess.

That first photo wasn't great -- just some greenery and a building, so it could be almost anywhere. Here's another:

Of course I had to take photos of the bamboo (probably Fargesia 'Rufa'). First textual hint: this is not St. Louis. This bamboo would have been fried to a crisp in St. Louis!

Any ideas yet? Another textual hint: this is about 0.01% of the bicycles here.

Okay, let's make it easier:

Still not sure?

If you don't have it after that, well, you'll just have to wait for a future post that will make it all clear.

Guesses in the comments please!

So how many photos did you have to see before you got it? If the answer was 1 or 2, wow. Me, it would probably be 5 -- only after the last photo.

Amsterdam? The photo of all the bicycles was my clue - I just read an article about the "bike problem" in the city.

Definitely Amsterdam. I found a matching photo online: http://www.yelp.nl/biz/bloemenkiosk-rembrandt-amsterdam.

I didn't know until the last photo.

For sure, not until the last photo did I think the city might be in the Netherlands. Which city, I don't know.

Yep, Amsterdam it is. Sad thing is, probably only a post or two about it, as not much garden or plant related while I was there. :(
