Iris, through my eyes

I've only had Irises growing in my garden for a couple of years, and these were given to me -- I didn't choose them.

I don't think I'll ever be Iris-crazy, but I can certainly appreciate their wonderful blooms when they arrive -- just beautiful! But I really only like them up-close...

...because for me, the magic of these plants is in the details of the blooms:

I do like the strong, curvy foliage too...

...but it's the way all of the parts of the blooms work together that really captivates me:

I'm not sure what variety this is, although Mike may remember if I ask him. Perhaps I'll tire of them someday, but for now I'm so glad they're part of my garden!

(This is the only iris growing next to the pond, if you're wondering where in the garden it can be found.)

Lovely! Of course, I'm a huge Iris lover...wish I had room for more (or, at least more spots with sun)!

Wow, your shots made it more elegant, sensuous, captivating with lots of morphological parts otherwise not commonly visible. All the shots are awesome!

I find iris flowers visually confusing but your macro shots isolated their most beautiful elements.

I have come to love iris but like you mine were given. It is a bit of a pain having to divide them and they seem to grow like weeds here.

These photos are beautiful! I love the extreme macro. It gives a new perspective on the Iris.
