Warm

Unseasonably warm this weekend, but I suspect that the word "unseasonable" will start losing its meaning as the weather becomes more unpredictable. As a gardener I'm hoping for another mild winter like last year's, and we're off to a good start.

Our normal high for this time of year is 47ºF (8ºC). The forecast this week predicts highs of: 72, 74, 61, 56, 58 (that's 22, 23, 16, 13, 14ºC) then finally it gets back to normal for next weekend.

Mild winter for me means: no damage to bamboos so larger spring growth, cardoon that starts behaving perennially, less stress about potted plants being damaged, less chance of pots being broken, an easy first winter for the fish in the pond, and lots of opportunity for me to get outside and get the garden ready for spring. As long as the mild winter doesn't come with another summertime drought, I'm all for it!

Sorry, short post today. Hope you're having weather you can enjoy!

The rain seems to be done for now and it's BEAUTIFUL outside, blue sky, sunny, 65°F at 1:20pm on Sunday, 12/3. Gearing up to go for a walk!

Yes, these unseasonable weather patterns are fun but oh how we need some rain. I'll swap one for a day of rain.

Great photo: the more I look, the more I see.
