Blue? Berry

Was it just last year's spring (2011) that I finally got my first blueberry plant? Was it just last fall that I saw their first autumnal display of wonderful color? It seems like I've always had this incredible foliage in my garden.

I wasn't going to post about the blueberry leaves this year, as I had already done it. But then I saw it happen again with my own eyes and I just couldn't resist.

The colors are so vibrant and varied, with greens, yellows, oranges, and reds all on the same leaf. Just captivating. These images are all of the same plant, taken yesterday afternoon.

I just have such a hard time calling these blueberry plants at this time of year.

I also have a hard time walking past them without stopping.

I'm a sucker for Blueberry plants at this time of year too...there are fields of them just outside of town that would make you stop in your tracks!

Very nice! Did you get any berries this summer? I know these are pretty small still.

Such a pleasure to enjoy things which happen over and over as well as to delight in surprises.

We rail at the birds for pilfering most of the berries, but when the bushes do this, who cares? Lovely shots.
