Looking at bamboo

Very few words again today.

Just another look at the springtime bamboo in my garden.

Shoots are so exciting and beautiful:

as is the fresh, clean foliage:

and the new culms, vibrant and tender, picking up accents of red and purple from sun exposure:

Although most of those red tones will soon fade and the electric green will mellow and yellow with age, I certainly do enjoy them right now.

I hope you do too.

Mr Bambooman, your collection of bamboos are really beautiful and interesting. Do you also have the vegetable shoot producing bamboo?

I have some bamboo activity in my garden but we're at least 2 weeks behind compared to last year.

I can see why you love bamboo so much! Beautiful shots.

Cool. How big in diameter is the atrovaginata?

I'm expecting my bamboos to emerge approximately 4-5 weeks after yours.
