green and gold

This mild start to winter has given me a longer than usual taste of green.


I noticed the other day that there are a few plants that have mixed their greens with some gold, to nice effect.

This Artemesia 'Tangerine' which has a really unusual scent that I sometimes love and sometimes despise has a beautiful mixture of the two colors:



As does this Pleioblastus viridistriatus bamboo:




This Columbine is more of a golden-green, so I'm not sure if it really counts:


I know this Hibanobambusa tranquillans 'Shiroshima' certainly does not count, because it always looks like this:



So nearly the end of December, and some non-brown colors remain. Amazing.

How about some green with pink flowers? At the rate we are going climatological winter will be very short this year.
