Yes, it's Spring
Just a look around the garden today, at the blooms and foliage that spring brings to my yard.
As busy as I am getting things back into shape, if you don't stop to appreciate what's there, what's the point?

A couple of years ago, my garden didn't contain a single species of Iris. Somehow, I've collected several over the past few years. I'm not quite Iris mad like some people are, but I'm certainly learning to appreciate their contribution to the garden.
I've only had Irises growing in my garden for a couple of years, and these were given to me -- I didn't choose them.
Yesterday I showed you most of the plants I put on the north side of the new front walkway.
The other day when my gardening friend Michael invited me over to see his bamboo, he had an ulterior motive: he wanted to give me some plants.
I received a big division of this plant a couple of years ago from my gardening friend Michael, who was eager to share and get some room for new plants at the same time.
The third of the Irises that I received from a gardening friend last year have finally started to open, and I'm pretty sure they're Siberian Irises.
I recently posted photos of my first bearded Iris to bloom this year. That was quite a beauty, and it will be difficult to beat its blooms I think. Or should I say "thought". The second of my unknown Iris types is starting to bloom!
I've been growing Irises for just about one year now. I have three different types, and have no idea what any of them are. I've never even seen two of them bloom yet. The one I have seen (it was blooming last year when I got it) is really beautiful though.
There are a few details about my day digging bamboo that I didn't tell you about yet. As I mentioned, Michael has a lot of really interesting plants in his garden, and besides the bamboo, he wanted to give me some Irises. The colors of this variety are pretty unique from what I know about Irises, but since I know nothing about Irises except the rhizomes grow on the surface of the soil, I could be wrong.
